Treat yourself to an

Live simply in our

Thys Huis Cottage

Our off-grid cottage accommodation is powered entirely by renewable energy sources and uses sustainable practices to minimise its impact on the environment. Both of our cozy, rustic rooms are designed to provide a comfortable and relaxing stay, with all the amenities you need to feel right at home.

The cottage can accommodate 4 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, each furnished with a king-size bed and have en-suite bathrooms fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. Both rooms have access to an outside shower. All linen and towels are provided.

The living area features an open-plan design with a kitchen, dining space, and lounge area. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, 2-plate gas stove, microwave, basic crockery and cutlery, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and features a 4-seater dining table. There’s also a wood burning stove for those cold winter nights. The living area and kitchen are combined with a partially covered verandah which has access to a braai area. Braai wood is included.

We have recently added an ‘Africa’ shaped small, shallow pond to attract frogs, birds and other wild life. There are small fish in it and the water is circulated via a pump.

Guests should take note that water is obtained from a borehole so fresh drinking water is provided. All water is directed back into the veld. From the verandah, there are views of the olive grove, the nearby mountain range, and in the distance the R62. Safe parking and free Wi-Fi are available on the premises. Guests are also welcome to help themselves to fresh vegetables from the veggie garden during their stay.
